Our beginnings
During 1983 local families had been discussing the establishment of an Independent school on the Central Coast. A steering committee was formed in April 1984 and the first meeting of the Council of Central Coast Grammar School was held on the 25th September 1984.
By the 1st of December the foundation of the first classroom block had been laid and the school commenced operation in February 1985, with a total enrolment of 185 students from Year 3 to Year 11. The first Year 12 students graduated the following year in 1986 with enrolment close to 500.

Dr Ron Chambers was the founding Headmaster, succeeded by Richard Lornie in 1986, Bill Low in 2008, and by the current Headmaster Phil O'Regan in 2024.
The first five years saw aggressive land purchase and building development to house rapidly growing enrolment. The school is now 40 years old and sits on a magnificent 18-hectare tree-studded campus with first class facilities and an enrolment of 1,500 students across Kindergarten to Year 12.
